Neuroscientists say the best way to engage a student’s mind is to activate their brain’s primary cortices – visual, auditory, language production and motor – simultaneously. In English, this means activating all four of your child’s learning modes – seeing, speaking, listening, and moving.
I found a great whole-brain learning technique that does just this. It’s called “Teach OK” and was created by educators from California. Watch, I say, WATCH THIS VIDEO. I use it in my creative writing classes for kids – it works with all ages & subjects. Do your students a favor – take a few minutes to learn it.
It’s especially useful for challenging kids. And this is coming from a former challenging kid.
